Angry air flow through vents

Hi I have a 1996 Camaro z28 convertible .My dilemma is If I have the air on the air flow nicely from the proper vents at idle or low speeds, yet when I get to higher or cruising speeds the air flow will all but practically stop Any Ideas .This is my first sports car seeing as how my wife and I are now retired and didn't want to go in debt to enjoy some rides Thanks Richard

The flapper doors that control where the air flows through the system are controlled by engine vacuum. Most common problem is a broken vacuum check near the vacuum connection on the engine.

The vacuum port for the HVAC system is on the passenger side of the intake manifold, right above the connection for the fuel pressure regulator vacuum compensation line:
