I'm pretty sure oil from PCV is causing my misfire! What should I do???
I have been reading about the oil getting into the intakes of our cars, and im just wondering what to do about it. Some people are putting fuel filters inline, but i think they would get clogged a lot. the catch can looks good, but what about just unhooking it and venting to atmosphere? Would this trigger any codes? This is really pi$$ing me off, i have a $27,000 piece...

OK, so I just started my car at lunch and its running fine now. I swear, this things is the nicest looking piece a crap in the world. I've also decided what im going to do about this. Im going to get a new catch can with one inlet and the breather on top. Then Ill hook a hose from the pcv valve to the can, vent to atmoshpere, and plug the intake. How does this sound? Ive read of people doing this and it working fine. Does anyone know if itll set an codes? I guess if it doesnt work ill be out about 60 bucks. oh well.

Well, I wasnt just going to use a breather filter. I was going to cap the inlet on the intake manifold, and run the pcv valve to a catch can with one inlet only. the result is the same as this mod, except ill be venting to atmosphere. Have you eve had a problem with you car doing this? i have a few posts going right now cause my car is really messed up. I switch the pcv from the 2002 Z06 i had in to a new stock Z28 unit, and the car starts dropping cylinders like crazy. is this just coincidence? is it really a bent pushrod or cracked spring? I have no idea, but this seems to be a bit more than just a coincidence. I need to get this fixed and fixed right the first time(i hope)...

Alright guys, I decided to go with the line filter for an air compressor. Before I do it though, Im going to clean the top end with my gm top end cleaner. So heres my question. where is that air valve at that I need to disconnect? Do i have to disconnect it?

Im not sure whats wrong with this site, but it works fine for me. Im not sure of the part #, but just go to the dealership and ask for a pcv for a 2002 Z06. It cost me under 4 bucks. not bad. Basicall this sites saying to put a air line filter/dryer inline with the pcv. it shuldnt be too hard, i think this will be the cheapest way to go, and with the clear tank you can see where the levels at. I think im going this route, instead of a catch can. I think the catch can would look nicer, but i can change it later. At the home depot the parts will cost around 15-20 for the filter, and a few bucks for the fittings. I may get the swivel fittings though, they cost like 14 a piece, still not bad though.
