Stock Exhaust Question 1994 Trans Am
I hope I am posting this in the right place.
My brother recently purchased a 1994 Trans Am and he needs to get it smogged, however the exhaust setup is extremely illegal here in CA (Aftermarket headers, no cats, straight single pipe to muffler, "dual exhaust" from the muffler)
On the 94's, is the stock setup dual cats and 2 pipes to the muffler or does it run dual cats to a Y-pipe to the muffler like some of the newer V6's?
Or am I completely wrong, and is it something else?
Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Unless cali cars are different its manifolds into a Y-pipe into a single cat to a single pipe over axle to muffler and duals (one pipe on each side) out of each side of that
Sounds like what your brother is running is good excecp for the cat, assuming that the headers are CARB approved, which most shorties are
