Leaky T-Tops

What needs to be changed to fix leaky t-tops at the window and any way to prevent this from happening again once fixed?

Re: Leaky T-Tops

I've had this problem and there are two fixes.

The first one is to get some black electrical tape and cut very small sections and apply the tape where the leak is. My leak was always on my driver's side where the back of the t-top's weatherstripping met the front of the car's weatherstripping. This fix works, but after a few weeks of opening and closing the doors and having the windows open, you'll need to change out the tape.

The second fix is new power window motors. Mine died about this time last year and it wasn't until I had the new ones in that I realized the old ones weren't pushing the window up against the weatherstripping far enough, which is why water would trickle in during rain. Now the new window motors push the glass against the rubber so snug that there are no more leaks whatsoever and there is no more need to use electrical tape.

weather stripping is a huge issue with these. my friend got his to wear less on his weather striping when he put his Subframe connectors on, but I recommend replacing the weather stripping

Welcome to the board!

New weather stripping. I also make sure that I keep the stripping clean and armor-alled (or similar product) regularly. A lot of sun over time can really dry them out and cause stiffness and then leaks.
