how much hp and torque should a good aftermarket muffler give you?
I cant decide on what to get for my 350 tpi with a stock dual setup!!! And i dont know what muffler will give me the most power and performance.
The flowmaster 80 series is supposed to give 30 more hp, and 40 more ft pounds of torque. Are they good numbers? Does anyone know of any mufflers that give better power gains than that?
Help me decide what performance muffler to get that will work with what i have!!!!!

AAHHHHAAAHHHHAAAA!!!
that's funny!!! there is no way possible for a muffler to gain you 30hp.
it's called advertisers ploy....to sell the product. advertised gains and realworld gains are two completely different things. a good flowmaster on an otherwise stock exhaust will gain probably 5hp, and that's being hopefull.
a good catback system, meaning 3" mandrel bent tubing and a good muffler will likely gain you 10-15hp over stock on your car.
some of the best flowing catbacks available are borla (built in cutout), magnaflow and the SLP loudmouth. however the other systems on the market are have gains that are marginally less...probably 2-3hp, but are significantly better sounding (personal opinion).
for a catback, it is best to go by what you like the sound of, and which one you can afford. all catbacks will perform different on different cars, so racking your brain on which one flows best for only a couple hp is pointless.

I'm new to car exhausts but figured those numbers were high.
Do you guys like the flowmaster 40 series?
I think I might get that.

I got it from www.summitracing.com , for cheaper than a stock muffler was at a local parts store.
