drag radials

Hi, new here, hope this is the right place for this question. I'm wanting to put a pair of fatties on the back of my 02 but I'm confused. I've seen 15x8 or 15x10 with 7.5 backspacing running anywhere from 275/60r15 to 325/50r15s. I want to fit the widest I can. I'm currently running 295/35r18 on the back so I've already done the BFH mod and would like to stay close to that diameter. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: drag radials

If you want wide tires, you need wide wheels.... e.g. 15 x 10.0 with the 7.5" backspace.

Are you locked into 15" drag radials? Did you look at the "sticky" in the "Wheels and Tires" forum regarding drag tires? Might help you out with regard to issues when putting 15" wheels in the back.

The limiting factor on the tire is the section width. I've hammered the back and run both BFG Drag Radials 315/35-17 (12.4" section width) and M/T ET Drag 28x10.5-15W (13.1" section width).

Re: drag radials

Thanks for the reply. I recently had the opportunity to ride in a camaro with heads and cam only with the drag radials on. It pulled harder off the line than anything I've been in yet. My current tire/wheel combo is useless below 35mph, just spins. Plus they look pretty cool when set up properly.
