Check engine light????

Re: Check engine light????
Might want to include a "signature" with basic info about your car.... year, trans, major mods. Helps people answer your questions.... all LT1's are not the same.
Scan it for codes... even if the SES light went back off, the code it still there. How hard it is to scan it will depend on what year it is.

Re: Check engine light????
That's odd, but I think it should still give you a code. Check engine light is pretty much useless in diagnosis... you need to figure out the code. It could be anything, even a loose gas cap will cause the light to come on.

Re: Check engine light????
As Injuneer said, it will help if you tell us the year of car, plus trans and any mods. And if you get the code pulled, use the exact code number when posting what the code is.

Re: Check engine light????
You will have to get the code pulled. Your car is OBDI, and most parts places, like Autozone, won't pull the codes from an OBDI car. You'll have to find a buddy with a scan tool, or pony up at a garage. Otherwise, you could spend mucho dinero swapping parts without fixing it. Of course you could get lucky and find it. If the light only started coming on after the header install, it could be the EGR valve. But, it's best to get the code pulled.
