Can I ask a non-fbody A/C question?

I've gotten alot of help on my T/A on here, but I had a question about my dad's Volvo 960 and thought some of you more experienced guys may know... maybe something simple.

Basicly... his vents just don't blow... except sometimes when you hit the brakes hard. Someone mentioned something to him about a vacuum baffle.

If no one has any idea that's cool, just thought I'd ask.

I guess, it blows a little when hit the brake. How do I test this? I'm a 100% n00b on this... know nothing about A/C.

prolly like someone told him should have a vaccume line that opens a valve for the air to blow threw the air ducts look under the dash, under the cowl and anyother vaccume lines you see in the engine compartment one or more of them is prolly unhooked

Like pops said, on most modern cars the HVAC controls are run by vacuum. They run from the control panel to small actuators that open and close the different air baffles (doors). Check under the dash and the vacuum supply from the engine. A small vacuum gage is a real help.
