Another A/C question

Car is a '96 Formula. When the A/C is first turned on, it's cold. However, the longer it runs, the warmer it gets. It eventually is as warm as just using the vents. Need R134 or is something else going on?

Re: Another A/C question

Usually that means the evaporator is freezing up and that means it is low on refrigerant. Only get low from a leak. So its time to find the leak.

Re: Another A/C question

Thanks. I thought a leak might cause that.

Re: Another A/C question

They can inject a dye and see where the leak is from. Will cost a little to do this and then repair any leaks.

So can you and I. Buy a recharge kit that has it in it. Get an inexpensive UV light and have at it.

There are also leak sniffers that perhaps but not likely are available as rental tools.
