1998 Z28 - Passenger Floor bulge

I am not a regular here, but just wanting to know what some think about
a modification to the passenger floor area bulge where the cat. converter
resides. My problem here is that I am a summer weekend driver and my wife
is always compaining about the bulge there when she gets in the seat. Most
of you know what I am talking about.
She much prefers her SUV and just gripes when getting in and out of the Camaro.
I was thinking about doing a mod. by removing the cat and doing a flat conversion on the floorboard.
I am not worried about this as there is no yearly dot check in my state, etc.

Just trying to make my life easier.

I'd tell her to quit whining. Much cheaper alternative.

I am afraid that doesn't help, she tells me she wants to drive and then there is no fun in that.
If you are married, you know how things go !!
For some of us as we get older in our 50's she has touble getting in and out
of the lower car also.
She did mention that we should look at one of the newer Camaros, so now
that may be a nice thing!!

Your lucky she only whines about the bulge. Mine use to complain about the whole car to the point where I'd want to sell the car just to shut her up. Hasn't happened yet though.

Good luck on what ever move you make.

Simple answer - if its that big an issue, cut out the floor and have a flat filler piece installed. Seems obvious. Can't think of any downside, other than the issue of fitting headers in the future.

We are past our "50's", and my wife has no complaints when she has to climb over the roll bar, strap herself in with a 5-point harness and rests her feet in the passenger foot well. Her only complaint is that there's no radio.....

I hate to hear stuff like this. My wife (55) stuck on a lot of non-issues but not this.

1. Tell her you asked here, and it's gonna cost $10,000 to mod the floorboard. Tell her Injuneer said so

2. When she balks at that expense, take her up on the offer to check out a new Camaro.

3. Use $10,000 to put down on new Camaro. Drive new Camaro home.

4. Sell old Camaro. Your option with the procedes from the sale: Mod new Camaro, or go to Vegas: gamble, drink, hire strippers
