I haven't bought *any* manuals on CD for about 5 years, but everything I ever got on CD's was pure crap.
The factory manuals take some getting used to if you're new to 'reading them', but they are for sure the best and most informative.
I have a '97 set of manuals if there's something in particular you need looked up. Good to have the whole manual though, you'll use it endlessly if you keep the car long and work on it yourself.

Factory manuals (there are 2 in the set) are difficult to figure out (organization-wise). I use a set of bookmarks when I am working on something (like when I built the engine). I find myself using them all the time, and they are less bad each time I use them.
