10 sec cars and there problems

When you get a below the 11's mark what problems do you run into? I have a car that has alot of tq/hp and it seems to be having problems everyday. I kno the 10 bolt is a problem but everyone knows that. What is it that you have had to do to keep your car alive, rather it be engine related or chassis?

kindda a vague question....

i guess replace everything that is going bad with something better...

trans with something stronger
rear end with something unbreakable
full cage to keep from twisting
simplify and beef up all the electronics

well i've never heard of the TA messing up the floorboards...the problem i think is that it attaches to the talilshaft of the trans...which could cause problems.

something like the BMR trak pack fixes that, combine that with thier boxed sfc and you should be good.

and it the 12bt is designed to fit the stock TA ...it will fit hte trak pak too.

the bigest problem with a 10 sec car is traction on street tires.

The trans is the biggest problem I've seen by far. You have to do alot to keep it going strong. Ofcourse I'm excluding the rear end and all that stock b/s. If the motor is built well, it's going to survive for quite awile on the street and the track. Huge shots of N20 used alot at the track takes it's toll as well or excessive boost. Other than that and what's been mentioned above I really cant think of anything else. Just keep the car well maintained and stay on top of things and you should be good. Also, clutches seem to go alot sooner.

Most people have switched to a better intake pump by the time they hit 10's. Shocks would be based on personal preference, but something like a QA1 shock would work. The poly tranny mounts would be my guess. As far as the roll cage goes, you'll probably be kicked out if you run faster than 11.50 without one. And I've never seen a stock tach that was on the money, besides you will probably want one with a shift light because there isn't much time to read a tach at that level.

I would assume not to many people are still running stock fuel pumps on there 10 sec car. Fuel and air are the biggest things to be able to go fast. Drag shocks from Eibach or spohn is what I would recommend. Poly tranny mount from Energy Suspension is what I always used. You will need a cage to run 10s at just about any track around. I see no way around that. Go with Auto Meter guages and tachs they are the most reliable and nicest looking you can get. (answers were answered in the order asked). Sorry if it didnt make alot of sence while reading.

Well when my spray comes in it will be to decide if i want 200 or 250 anyways my engine should be a good 450 flywheel hp and alot more torque. Im jus been having a lot of problems after the install, i was just wondering who else was having problems with there quick rides. My car will stay full trim and wont have anything took away fom the class side of the car. I knew the rear end was weak just wanted to know what everone else was having problems with.

If the car is put together properly, you shouldnt' really have any problems

450fwhp is not all that much. even with over 2x that my car was driven for 8 months with out incident (never stranded, etc). Hell, I never actually broke anything. also never ran it at the track at that time, although i did beat the hell out of it on the street
