Re: 94' Camaro stumbles, dies when warm
Hey I've been wasting time trying to get the Download of this "Scan9495" Free Diagnostic tool to open properly after it's been downloaded, and I keep getting the Pepper Zip Red X Application Not Found, when I try to Open it ? I tried various files at that site, nothing ! All that after I made my own OBD1 Cable, lol "Consider free download of Scan9495. Link in a sticky post at the top of the Computer Diagnostics....." forum

After removing the PepperZip Malware, and installing HitmanPro (Awesome); I still had some frustrations with install of Drivers for the ALDL Cable, and DLC of SCAN9495 etc. I then decided to order the CP9185 ScanTool, and new CP9127 cable. Why waste any more time, I'll post results later.

Use one of the drivers found on the same web site as the scan9495 app. They are ".exe" files. All you have to do is run them. Better yet, get someone who is more familiar with pc's to do it for you.
By the away, Hitman Pro is way too invasive. I do not recommend it. It probably won't let you install any drivers that are not digitally signed or have a low "reputation" factor (few users). Also, scan9495 is not signed. That would cost me hundreds of dollars a year to do and would force me to try to change a hefty price for it.

Re: 94' Camaro stumbles, dies when warm
Well after letting the engine warm, and heat soak, the CP9185 Scan Tool is showing "Code 036 IGN System Problem Loss of High Res Pulse Signal"; so I guess my 10 yr old Optispark is failing (only 32,000 miles on it). I've replaced everthing else and no other codes are present. The Scan Tool works nicely, and is even showing some of Transmission Solenoid codes. Well I don't have to waste any more time on diagnostics, at least. Thanks for the advice on this issue; as we suspected it was Optispark Failure, according to Scan Tool (love it). See yaa

Re: 94' Camaro stumbles, dies when warm
Hello, so I used my new CP9185 Scan Tool to detect "036 Ign System problem Loss of High Res Pulse Signal". So I guess my 10 yr old 32,000 mi Optispark has failed. No other Codes are present. So upon looking at Optisparks online, I see AC Delco selling theirs for about 500 dollars, and Assault Racing has one for about 130 dollars; so considering how little time these will last, I'm considering the cheaper model. ACCEL has a "vented" model for about 250 dollars. So which to choose, and does "vented" mean anything as the type I have installed my 94'Camaro I don't think is such.

Hi, so I'm in process of reviewing and ordering the new replacement parts online. I am going to replace the water pump also as they are fairly cheap, and the Optispark I'll be getting will be the Summit Racing brand, as the $500 AC Delco had only 30,000 miles on it. My 94' Z28 Camaro uses the Splined, Non-Vented type Opti for other Forum users to note. Since I don't currently have a garage, I'll be paying a Mechanic, and I'll let you know how it runs after I get repairs done, Thanks all ! See ya
