Logging Software, Does It Help?

I got in to drag racing this summer and noticed EVERYONE at the track has a weather station with logging software so they can predict their next run. Is this something that really helps as you get better/faster cars? If you have some software what are the features you like about it?

Re: Logging Software, Does It Help?

Yes it does help. It will take a few outings for you to gather enough data to see trends in your cars runs. Record all the weather station info on the back of the time slip and try to keep track of things like tire pressures (front & rear), staging rpm, actual shift rm and trap rpms. All the info gathered will serve a couple purposes. It not only help you eliminate any bad runs; ei short shifts, spinning off line, etc; but it will also allow you to back track thru the season if the cars et falls off dramatically and doesn't recover. You can then pinpoint the event or even the run that something happened. After you get used to using the weather station you will wonder how you ever got along without it.
