Cc503 car
I went to track last thursday. The car is a 1995 camaro z28 with a cc503 (224/230 .510/503 1.5rr), 1.6rr comp magnums, k&n cai, 58mm tb, new valvetrain and the heads and intake were gasket matched along with the intake to the tb. I swapped the 4l60e for a t56 and i have 3.23 gears. It has a mail order tune by madz.
I ended up running a dismal 13.5 @ 101 with a 1.9 60 ft. I was 8.76 @ 82.2 at the eighth. These times seemed lower than what they should have been to me.
I did put in 87 octane instead of 93 because i was broke and thats what i had in the garage. And i had 27 inch slicks on my car, and that probably made the gear more like a 3.00. How much do you think the combination of that affected my time? Next week i will be running 93 octane and 315/35/17 DRs.
Thanks to all who contributes their thoughts and predictions for next week.

Re: Cc503 car
Well first off you should have ran some 93 octane, the car was probably having some knock issues with the low octane.
With the mail order tune I am sure the timing tables have been modified, the PCM was probably retarding the timing, I bet if you run some 93 octane the car will improve greatly.

Re: Cc503 car
Somthing isnt right , I ran 13.6 stock and just did what you have on your car and hope to pick up more then a tenth . Iam going to do a dyno tune first before i even go to the track , Iam starting to wonder about this mail order tune

Re: Cc503 car
u had no gears and horrible gas. im surprised u ran that good
even with the drs u r gonna want to run lower gears than 3.23
and esp with the tuning its gonna run like crap without 93. esp on mail order tunes they tune it specifically thinking u will only run that gas in it.

Re: Cc503 car
The tune is likely decent not on the money by any means. Those 3.23s are absolutly killing you and specially with a mild cam you need the gear. I ran mine with headers and 4.10s with a dr and could only muster a 13.8 @ 102 with a 2.2 60ft bad prep couldnt hook for ****. Minimum gear id run is a 373 but if it were me it would be no question but 4.10s. After you change the gear and 93-94* gas you should be into the 12s easy if you can launch it.

Re: Cc503 car
Yeah a 4.10 is next on my list. Ricer math tells me thats worth about half a second. I was launching at 5k rpm and only got a 1.9 60 ft? It was fun At the least. I just hope i can save up enough for a gear before it gets too cold! I shouldnt have even posted this thread until i ran on 93 octane. Didnt go yesterday due to rain. Ill post what i run and a video thursday, its supposed to be great out.
