I am building up an 86 rx7, I'm putting some sorta of post-86 350. I am wanting to know the max revs that a stock crank can take. The reason I want to know this is because I want to build the motor, and try to keep away from spending large amount of money on a forged crank. I was wondering what kinda power I can expect if I leave the stock crank, use some sorta H-rods or similar rods, a set of 10.0 compression pistons, aftermarket heads, a cam, and 750 carb. I want to go carb to keep it simple and not have to deal with the wiring into the RX7. I have a t-56 trans already to use with it. I want to be able to rev the motor to around 6500 rpms, since my car has 4.10 rearend stock. I also would like to get around 400 rwhp N/A. The car only weighs 2700 lbs with the motor and trans in, so I don't want a low to mid rpm powerband, I think that a mid to higher rpm powerband would suit the car better.
If anyone has any ideas as what I need to do to achieve my goal of 400 rwhp please post ideas.
Thanks, Les
