Street Twin.....will a stock master cylinder work?

Street Twin.....will a stock master cylinder work?

Is it OK to used a stock master cylinder with a Street Twin?

Not unless you have their custom bore/sleeve for the slave cylinder (which is a pain to get working).

Trust me, I went through this.

My Street Twin is running fine with the stock Master Clyinder. Maybe I am just lucky.

Generally the stock master cylinder/clutch actuator combo does not provide enough travel to fully disengage the ST. The result is hard shifting, especially getting the car into first or reverse from a dead stop. Mine was that way.

Mine worked fine with the stock master, once I put the sleeve kit on the slave. Without the sleeve kit, there was not enough movement to fully disengage. Neither the person I bought the used Street Twin from nor myself had any problem with the sleeved slave, but the guy I eventually sold the setup to said the slave started leaking after he installed it.....

i put a NEW stock slave on mine when i put my street twin in and NO problems since.....
