Can I upload a program on to my PCM if....

There is no motor or tranny in the car but the battery and computer are all conncected and working? I wanted to upload a program into my pcm so once the motor and tranny go back in I can just fire it up...

I never tried it, but can't see why it wouldn't work. Don't see how it would hurt to try in any case.

Couple of other things: the PCM will turn the fuel pump on, so be sure it's not connected and be sure none of the wires are grounded.

Try a read first and see what happens, I know that turning the PCM on looks for certain things to be there, but I likewise dont know if you can or can't program it without engine/trans being in the car. So try it and find out, doing a read first of course.

You should be able to. I have a benchtop harness that lets me program PCMs outside the car, with a regular 12V power source.

You just need 12V power to the PCM.
