guionM 02-28-2003, 03:42 PM On another thread was posted the GM Regular Production Option list.
I got to page 7 & found the 1LE package is reserved for the 2004 GTO! (page 7 of 188)
I thought it would be a good idea to have one thread where anyone going through that list can post anything interesting they find for all of us. There seems to be an amazing amount of information on link (ie: GTOs program is GMX-281).
In case you need the link again: http://www.gm-trucks.com/GMfullRPOlist.pdf
I think alot of us will find much more than just 1 or 2 of us going through this thing. :)
Sixer-Bird 02-28-2003, 03:47 PM Some of the the stuff on that list is almost too good to be true.

Ya, I think there is a lot of old stuff in there too... (see my RPO ZR1 reference in the other thread)
Typhoon is still listed... maybe it's coming back, though.
But there are some that even specifically say MY1998 and such in their description...
Chuck! 02-28-2003, 04:10 PM Z02- Turbo
Z04 - Rally
Z07 - Performance package "Aggressive Sport"
jg95z28 02-28-2003, 04:22 PM L88 - GAS, 4 CYL, 2.3L, MFI, TURBO, DOHC ????
LLS - GAS, 5 CYL, 3.6L, MFI, L5, ALUM, VVT, DOHC, TURBO,GM ????
Ken S 02-28-2003, 04:31 PM the z07 code has an action date of 910508.. which I'm assuming is 1991.. perhaps they enterd it in the system and left it in there.. Also, it has an M next to it. dunno what that means..
The 1LE code those has a date of 20409, which I assume means 2002.. so sounds like they are planning something for the GTO.. But its of type "Local" rather than "PERFORMANCE".....
I have a feeling this list is more like a Dictionary.. not necessarily whats actually going to be used..
Theres a 6.0 with DOD on there too.
guionM 02-28-2003, 04:38 PM L76- 6.0L V8 w/ cylinder deactivation
LC3- 4.2L V8 w/ DOHC & supercharger?!
Z07- Aggressive sports (Z06 is hardtop sport)
Z16- Performance package/ Z06 Commemorative Edition

newby 02-28-2003, 04:55 PM Is LSJ the supercharged ION engine?
LSJ Gas, 4 Cyl, 2.0L, MFI, L4, DOHC, SC, ALUM, GM
Burmite 02-28-2003, 05:00 PM I think this list is going to create more questions and than answers. Like 4.2 V8 with DOHC and a supercharger? Where did that come from, what is it's status, and what is it going to go into? A Bonneville GXP? And also, where are the Cadillac RPO codes? I haven't seen one yet and I've sifted through a good portion of the document.
DaxsZ28 02-28-2003, 05:59 PM I want one of those LTT's. 12 cyl,7.5L,V12,DOHC,SFI,VVT,Alum,Turb,GM.
That'd work!
Mervz 02-28-2003, 09:57 PM guys, the Z07 RPO was for the 91-95 corvettes. My C4 has the Z07 agressive suspension package. :)
guionM 03-01-2003, 06:00 AM I noticed it has codes from vehicles and options long discontinued (it still has something for a Chevette! ), and also has codes for GM divisions around the world. But the one thing I haven't found yet (I've admittedly spent only about a half hor total looking through the thing) is that there isn't any Z28 option mentioned.

Yes, it's there. Do a "find", and you'll get it :)
Yup, it's there. :)
Z28 = MERCHANDISED OPT/SPECIAL PERFORMANCE. :cool:
Makes you wonder about 1LE being reserved for the GTO though. Maybe Z28 will be taking the 1LE's place like we discussed?!
Ude-lose 03-01-2003, 11:38 AM i did a search on gto and found these - click here (http://www.micro-op.com.au/execls1/gtorpo.jpg)
91_z28_4me 03-01-2003, 01:28 PM I was looking through this list and I noticed there are quite a few L6's and L5's. Also I noticed that there was quite a few DOHC 60* V6's and some of those are turbos and one is even a HO turbo. I thought the most intersting thing was the L section, because that is the preface to an engine. Also did anyone notice that B4Z, the iroc code, is listed as Blackbird. Which I can only assume were the hopped up TA's sold at a dealership in Atlanta? Is that right? And one thing is for sure this list WILL make a lot more questions than we had before. Also I don't see Z27 which was the original SS designation in the Camaro but Z28 is on there. I guess that ends the SS vs Z28 descussion.:D BTW Flamesuit on and ready for action.
WU8 = Camaro SS Appearance And Performance
Unfortunatly. How dare they use B4Z, and on a Firebird?! :) :D
95 Z/28 LT1 03-01-2003, 07:22 PM Damn, that was a lot of reading!:D Took me over 2 hours.
I searched through about all of it an found a few odds and ends that caught my eye.

That file is definitly a good one to have around and will definitly come in handy. To bad it dosen't seperate all the European stuff from the US.
Burmite 03-01-2003, 09:27 PM Well I know that F55 designation is on the Corvette for the new suspension system that debuted on the 50th anniversary. The F56 though I have never heard of. That might be the C6 super suspension set up for a Z06.
Ude! The W62 package! There it is for the high powered GTO we will see in 2005.
I think the YFJ and Q10 packages are also interesting... for the C6 Z06?
SageofKnight 03-02-2003, 01:29 AM Have you guys used it to look up the RPO codes from your own cars? Very interesting!
SageofKnight 03-02-2003, 12:36 PM Just went through an "engine" search...

SFireGT98 03-02-2003, 02:23 PM I heard there were Cavalier police cars in Mexico and I thought to myself, BS. well, looks like this guide has proved me wrong! Hope they dont get into a chase with any Corvettes or Z28s...........
LOL .. there's so many mistakes in that document, it's not even funny. I looked up a few typical "test RPO's" that are ALWAYS wrong, like 47I LU5 AQ9 LQ9 Y84 LL1 W62 and those are all wrong.. who would've guessed (sarcasm) :) Some, like W69 2PZ QYH Y83 for example aren't even in there at all. Interesting 2004GTO tidbits, but overall, highly useless list; nothing I haven't seen before.

i noticed that (i was one of the first i looked up)
Long story short: you cannot generalize RPO's. The same exact RPO can mean two completely different things for two different years and models, etc.
Y84 is a good example: Y84 has meant at least FOUR different things that I'm aware of, depending on which year Firebird it was used on. And that's only for Firebirds; I'm sure other car lines have their own Y84 from time to time.
LQ9 is a good example of an engine code; used to be an Iron Duke variant, now it's a big honkin truck V8.
There has never been a complete and accurate RPO list. Ever. That PDF file is certainly not complete or accurate, by a long shot.
And to think ZL1 was a great 427 at 1 time.

There is many things on that list you have not seen before, so stop being an arogent *****.

 Don't be such a tool.
From looking at that list, I get the feeling that they recycle certain RPO's when they need to.
As for it being complete, I am sure it was whenever it was put together. Also, all the RPO codes are for PRODUCTION vehicles, any old ones that are there is just water under the bridge. Only current or future codes would seem to matter to GM anyways.

eh? For a "master list", it sure is a pretty pathetic master list; missing many times more than it contains.

Bonneville engines? 4.2L DOHC supercharged?
Sounds like the Supercharged Northstar they were using in the Evoq
RPOs get superseded. This is why we see the new, wrong ZL1 and not the original Camaro ZL1. Same with LS6 -- do you see the Chevelle engine option LS6 there, or the Corvette engine option?
guionM 03-03-2003, 09:30 AM Same goes for the LM1. It was initially the 350 V8 used from 1977-1982 in everything from Camaros and Impalas to certain Pontiacs, Buicks & Oldsmobiles.
Ted 99 TA WS6 Conv 03-03-2003, 02:40 PM Page 111. What do you think the LS7 will go into?
GAS,8 CYL,6.4L,SFI,ALUM,HO,GM
Any speculation ....
