I'll start. I really liked the 2000, red Silverado SST concept, the Nomad and this year's SEMA regular cab Silverado SS.

It stinks for me being a Chevrolet dude, but no concept they have done recently has been really impressive. I have to say the nicest concept I've seen so far is the Pontiac G6.

*shrug* I like the SS. Keep in mind its a concept not a production vehicle.

Make it a two door, tone down the front fenders, give it a more realistic front end. Also make the rear valance body color.

IMO opinion there is ALOT more Camaro there than anything. Maybe they're testing the styling waters for the 5th gen?

I like, and would consider buying, the reg cab Silverado SS. I like, and really want to buy one for my wife, the Equinox. As far as the SS, I betting it has some C6 cues in it. I like it as well.

I'm not a truck guy, but man, I just fell in love with the reg cab Silverado SS, bench seat.....rubber floor mats and all.

IMHO, the best two concepts GM has had in a long while are the Pontiac G8 and the Chevy SS.

The G8 should have been given the green light instead of the Monaro and and I think the Chevy SS rear end needs a bit of work. Overall, though, I think those are the best two.

Also, I get a sneaky feeling the SS is "stretched" preview of the styling that will show up on the '05 Corvette.

What happened? I thought people would be all over this thread. We are the double distilled essence of Chevy enthusiasm on this board.....and yet no one is very enthusiastic.

Is Chevy completely missing the mark with their concepts? The silence is deafening.

You know what I'd like to see...some cars...that's what. The SS concept is liked by some, but to me it's just a cartoon character, not a car.

Of course we'd like to see a Camaro...but any car would be good. Coupes, sedans, station wagons...whatever. The Ford stand had one of each....and each one was spectacular.

The Bel Air stands a good chance for production, eventhough it was met with luke warm reviews. Why? Is it because it would be so easy and cheap to manufacture?

I'm trying really hard to be positive BTW.:)

Z284, you got it right a few posts up. There is nothing from Chevy to talk about. Nothing really from GM for that matter!! But the G6 is alright.

That car as a 2 door, V8, RWD, and smaller rims, would have been a better GTO than what we're getting. Go all the way down the page until you get to it for those who haven't seen or wanna compare it with the Grand GTO: http://pontiac.com/concept/index.jsp?brand=concept&pagename=concept The BV GXP is pretty nice too.

Not a Chevy, but the Cadillac Cien from last year was great.... :)

Belair was OK. I think that's only because it was slammed so hard here last year, that I wasn't expecting much. When I finally saw it, it was actually a good looking car. It didn't blow me off my feet though.

The SS is simply too big to be as sporty as it was aimed to be, I really don't like trucks, the SSR to me was underwhelming, so Belair wins by default.

I agree about the SSR. In concept form the SSR was kinda neat, (I don't know if it was neat enough to produce though). The execution of the production version is very underwhelming. I barely gave it a second look at the show.

I wonder what a production version of Bel Air would look like? They sure couldn't have it's suspension "slammed" like the show car.

When the SSR first came to the autoshow floors I really liked it. But these days are long gone. They really need too much time to bring the cars to market (I think itīs still not available yet). Same will be with Bel Air, if it comes sometime in 2006 or so...
My favorite cars are the Solstice and the G6, would buy one of them today.

It is quite big but it still looks great to me and all that 430 HP/Torque makes it one of my favorite cars of all time. To bad its not going into production :(

Well if we're going to veer away from being limited to Chevy only, I'd have to say the Cien. I can't remember a better GM concept. That car is freakin' awesome! :metal: :metal:

They had the Cien at the LA show. I agree, that was one awesome looking car, I still find it hard to believe they had that car on the floor and not on a display on preview night.

Irony of the Cien design is that it's GM's best concept of the past couple of years, yet it's everything Bob Lutz hates about car design, and probally wouldn't have been made if it was designed after he arrived at GM.

Mr Lutz is fantastic in bringing back performance & RWD, and he's also great at shooting down ugly vehicle designs, and restoring respectibility to GM's design department. But he doesn't seem to be the type of guy to really want to push car design, or break new ground design-wise.

I just got back from the Cleveland Auto Show last night (got to meet and chat with Scott too! :) )

Anyway, Cien was the best looking concept there bar none.

The lines of that car are incredible.

I liked the G6, Solstice, Cien, and the SS. Make the SS a little smaller and in coupe form and it would be even better.

chevy likes:

Silverado SS total stripper SWB truck. I mean jeez, I'm not a truck guy but that thing is the absolute embodiment of a no-frills full-size performance truck by GM. *_*_* B U I L D _ I T *_*_* for crying out f****** loud.

Bel-Air. I like it all except those dumbfounded-looking front headlamps. The rest of it is quite clean and distinctive. If it can retain that concept's posture, then I don't care if it's on a car chassis or truck chassis.

SSR. I like it from any angle, but least of all the rear. Looks a bit too flabby / rounded back there. The seats very much remind of the 1982-83 Viscount bucket seats used on some Pontiacs and that evokes a lot of emotion in me to see something like that again. Overall I enjoy it.. it's good eye-candy.

non-chevy likes:

G6. totally gorgeous and muscular in my opinion. Not to mention I *really* love that interior with full-length middle console and 4 bucket seats. The front end of it also looks thoroughly futuristic.

Solstice Roadster. I really enjoy the looks of the roadster. Undoubtedly they designed it as a roadster first and foremost. The hardtop looks like an afterthought, or there's something really wrong with those rear quarter windows.. the curves on those windows look totally cheap. And the back window itself could use major work.

GXP lineup of CARS, i.e. everything but the Vibe. Those black GXP cars are really inspirational.

Buick Blackhawk. OK, well it's full-blown retro, but it was very well executed in my opinion. AFAIK it's already ruled out of production, but I'd still like to see maybe 7500 of those made.

that's all that comes to mind.. GT

The GTO from this year and the Cien from last year.

I know the GTO isn't a concept, but it was my favorite of the GM vehicles showcased this year.
