list of members currently viewing forum

how about a list of the members currently viewing the forum like the other sites to see who is actually there if u wanna pm them?

It kills bandwidth and doesnt actually change anything for us

Not so much bandwidth, but database connections. Each and every person "shown online" equals one additional database connection (in addition to everything else loading equalling one database connection). The database can handle only so many simultaneous database connections at once. The are 308 people online right now. That would be 308 database connections in addition to alllllll the other database connections that are happening from people reading the board, loading pages, clicking link, replying, etc.... Too many databse connections, and the board engages its safety mechanism that halts people from reaing the board until the database connection amount reaches an acceptable level. Yes, some of those things are nice, but we don't add all that fancy-schmancy crap that isn't completely necessary to avoid problems and you will notice that we have VERY few problems. We like it that way. :)

If you want to see who is online, download and install the Camaro IM (http://www.camaroz28.com/im/) program and have everyone else you know do the same. That feeds off an entirely different database and the additional benefits from using that are obvious. :cool:

I don't think you can transfer that large of an amount of funds through PayPal. It would have to be through an escrow service.
