Rack and Pinion....

...another question...I'm in the middle of removing my upper and lower a-arms and I'm having issue's removing the bolt at the rack and pinion...the rack is blocking the removal of that bolt..therefore hindering Shawn R. of getting his lowers:) ...is there the only two bolts holding the rack in place at the k-member...I just need to move it a half an inch..thanks alot..

Hmmm. I know the problem. You cannot remove the last bolt on the A-Arm because it will not clear the inner tie rod end.

It seems to me that there was two bolts that secured the rack and pinion. That was it. I then just pulled the rack out a little.

I'll check now and also the Haynes

Yeah I just see the two bolts that secure the steering. Have you removed those?

I did..she's still a little tight, maybe I'll have to disconnect the steering shaft:mad: ...I'll give it another go in the morning..

tap it gently with a hammer to see if it needs to break loose.

..what if I turn the steering wheel...will the rack ends move to the side?
