A.i.r??

i have the A.I.R. system on my car.what does it do and if i buy headers without the fittings for the system will it be a disaster?? Thanx for the help and sorry for the ignorance.I should know this stuff

Basically it pumps air into your exhaust to dilute the harmful emissions that your engine produces. If you don't have emissions testing in your area you can strip it and it won't hurt a thing. If you DO have testing, you may still be able to take it out. You'll have to ask someone more familiar with emissions testing because I don't have any .

If it is not required for emmssions where ever you are, than by all means get rid of it. It is doing nothing for you, but getting in your way. It is a small amount of weight off the front of the car, and it makes it so much easier to work on your engine (plug changes). I have ripped A.I.R. pumps off of so many cars I should be on the EPA's Most Wanted List.
