Car eving to 6800, is this safe???

I'm hoping it is. I got it reprogremed from PCMforless and put a new cam and springs in it, but I still have the stock rockers. Is this safe for it to rev that high?

You might be able to get by with it for a little while. Personally, I wouldn't do it with stock bearings. What kind of oil pressure do you have? Did you have your heads ported to go with the cam? I'm assuming it's a pretty good size cam since you're wanting to rev it that high.

I know lots of LT1 guys who rev to 6800 with Upgraded springs and 1.6 Rockers but not with 1.5. Hmm

I have the same program for my car, but I dont have an aftermarket cam yet! I have heard that there is no need to shift at 6600rpm's or higher because your power starts to fall off way before that.

It depends on the cam grind when the power starts to fall off.. My old lunait fell off around 6800-6900.

Make sure you have the right valve train and hold on!

I must admit I have only been doing this for three years now

To rev that high you should consider hardened push rods( or crome moly) and roller rockers.

LT1 with Hotcam kit, Gold Race rockers, Hooker LT's, Y pipe and Borla.. . Power peaked at 6500rpm and held till the 6800rev limiter.
