Is anybody getting excited about the new SHO?

IDK, the numbers sound good on paper. AWD 365 HP twin turbo V6. The stealth factor. Discuss.

I think it's a bad little car... I like it a lot and if I ever needed a daily driver.. these might be in consideration. I am glad Ford is putting it out for sale.

As as for stealth factor.. with 365 HP it will be something to keep an eye out for.

If that thing gets good mileage, then I might just have a new daily driver soon. That's a very good looking car. Sucks that it's a Ford though. At least 14 years of hating Ford just to jump the fence. Damn. Be a nice replacement for the wife's truck in a few years as well.

I'm buying one, as soon as the SD is paid off. (we have a one payment rule)

It will be really hard, once all of the tests start coming out.

People who have gone to the Taurus introductions, at their local dealerships, say it looks just that much better in person. I think it looks stunning in pictures, so it is a good thing that my local dealership (small rural dealership) probably will not have one for a while. Otherwise, my rule would probably go away.

Speaking of dealerships, is Ford still sticking to SVT authorized dealers selling products like this? Are there any real SVT vehicles anymore? I know the GT500 has some SVT badging anyways.

No. Anyone will be able to sell the Raptor (my local dealership has one on order), GT500 (they sold one), and the SHO.

When SVT got pulled into Fords standard performance vehicle development, that ended. Pretty much any ST, or sport model, does have some SVT influence in it. I would bet that the Mustang Track Pack, probably is pretty much all them.

That is an estimate. We do not have the official EPA numbers, yet.

If that is Fords estimate, expect them to be a little higher by the EPA. Fords SOP these days, is to underpromise, and overdeliver.

Hmmm.............I think I spoke too soon. Optioned with SHO and the sport package, it's 38,990. Try and add the nice stereo, and you're forced to take a huge option package that brings it to 40,995. That's a lot of dough. Isn't that BMW 3-series territory? What does the CTS start at?

The 3-series is a compact car, and the CTS is 5-series sized car. For the price of the SHO, you get a V6 CTS, that can quickly become more expensive than a fully optioned SHO............. which has many options that the CTS does not offer.

Oh, when looking at base prices, look at AWD versions.............. if you want to be comparable.

The SHO is about Audi A8/7-series BMW sized. Which is just what I want (I was looking at 1-2 year old A8's).

SHO looks great. It is also an excellent way to get polish up the Taurus name. This car should get a lot of coverage in the auto magazines. The engine is very impressive.

I like everything about it except the exterior. I think it's plain.
