1995 3,.4L no-start... Fuel Pressure issue??

Ok...

Car ran fine the last time I ran it (about 3 days ago)...

I was running it parked, to heat up the inside & dry it out (separate issue)...

Shut it off, and came back to start it back up this morning....

It ran like absolute crap... I thought I might be low on gas... Drove it to the gas station, stalled on the way, no restart...

Now it won't start...

If I'm lucky, pumping the accellerator while cranking *MIGHT* get me a single cylinder firing... But that's it...

Fuel pressure at the pressure-check valve is 30 PSI with the key on, engine off - but immediately drops to zero a few seconds later...

Further testing done today...

EVERY cylinder flutters between 60-90PSI for compression testing... The engine will not run on starter fluid, so I'd say that wipes out the fuel pressure question.....

I doubt this is a head gasket issue (woiuldn't that result in only one or two cyls having odd compression), or solely fuel related...

Timing chain jump?

As noted above, I idled the car (parked) for about 30min with the heat on, to try and dry it out inside...

Turned it off... Then started it back up a few days later & tried to drive to the gas station... It ran like crap (which I attributed to being low on gas) and then stalled when I hit a stop light...

No re-start...

Check for spark.

"I was running it parked, to heat up the inside & dry it out (separate issue)..." What does this intale? Could be part of the problem, what was wet that you needed to dry?

It has spark...

I can even get it to fire one cylinder - or backfire out the exhaust or intake - if I crank it while pumping the gas..

What I can't do, is get it to actually start... Even with starting fluid up the intake (Which, on my Z28, is how I diagnosed a past fuel-pump failure - the car would 'run' on spray, but not on it's own fuel system)....

When I pulled the plugs to test compression, they were ALL fuel-fouled - black, wet & smelled like gas....

I am really suspecting that the timing chain jumped - it's acting alot like a motorcycle I had that did this... Fortunately, IIRC the 3.4 is not an 'interference' valve train (ala many *** cars, where if the timing chain or belt goes, the engine eats itself)....
