Lots of trans problems need help asap!

This is a problem that i have had for a year and a half now. It started out that i bought a trans from a supporting vendor and first when i got it there was no shifting at all so after i sent it back to them for them to check it they inspected it and said that there was nothing wrong with it after paying my mechanic 250 again to install it i put it in and still no shifting. They said that it had to be a tunning problem and when i told them my stock trans shifted perfectly they just said it is a tunning problem. Well finally i got fed up and said i am going to take it to a trans shop and have them fix the problem well after they took out the trans and inspected it they found the problem it was missing a cup plug and cause of that it burnt up the 3-4 cluch pack and they claimed they install new electronic shift solinoids but they are used not new. Well after 3 months and another 1700 dollars latter the trans is giving me a problem again. Now when i punch from a stop it wont shift it will just hit the limiter and i notice that the trans feels week . When i mean week that it takes a while for the car to start pulling hard it hard for me to go up hills and driving in third the car feels lazy dont know if it is trans our the converter how can you tell if the trans is bad our the converter i have a 9.5 3000 stall on a bolton lt1 and 3.73 gears so i know it will take more throthle to get it moving but i mean this car feels very loose i really cant drive on upward hills or even go from exits on highways it take like 25 seconds for me to get to 50 with like half throthle. When i went to contact the company that did the repair the owner had died so now i am f#cked again now 4500 dollars latter and my trans still doesnt work. I am thinking about cpt and have him either repair it or do a race rebuild. But now i see alot of people having trouble with him on shipping i am about 2 hours away so i can drive there and drop it off and pick it up just dont know how his quality is lately and what is his waranty policy. So can someone tell me how check a converter to see if it good or if it my trans please help me i am pissed. Who do you guys recommend for me for my problem i am in located in NewYork and the car is a 95z. Thanks for the help guys.

i would sue the ever living hell out of both the people who sold u the trans and the idiot who claimed he fixed it. Small claims court is very cheap and chances are if u file in ur city then the people your sueing r not going to make the trip to come to court over this. Then ur automatically awarded what you ask for! Dont let these companies steal you hard earned money. Stand up for yourself. Get your money back. Then give performabuilt Trans. a call. Just installed my stage 2 in my 95 formula, was shipped quickly to me and arrived as described. Awesome trans/converter combo too..

did you have the ecm tuned for the stall and gears,, there is a lot of tuning that needs to be done on a obd1 LT1 car to get the trans to shift right after a large stall and gears

do a search on here for obd1 stall wall you can find all the parameters that need to be changed if you do a bunch of searching

Yes i had it tuned when i purchased the trans. It is just there excuses for why the trans didnt shift. The tune was done by pcmforless for the gears and the 3000 stall, i know the obd1 cars need a tune for anything over 3000 stall cause of the stall wall. Just so pisssed off i want my car fixed.

WOW! Glad that wasn't from us. Sounds like the transmission builder really tried to take advantage of you.
Your current problems could be either transmission or torque converter related. Are you sure it's shifting through all the gears? It's not wrong gear starting is it?

Hey, I'll help you out. If you can get the trans down to me, I'll fix whatever got messed up in the previous build. I'm pretty familar with their particular transmissions. If you're interested in a race build, I'll knock money off for whatever "good" parts that they may have used that are salvagable.

Unfortunately, I can't offer you "2 day shipping". Then again, I guess you see where that offer got you now. We're working with a 3 week turn around right now. I can't be all 3...I can't be the cheapest, best, and fastest...LOL We'll just settle for the most inexpensive, and (as reputation shows us), the best.

Our reliablity is still far above most others. We give a 6 month on parts and a year on labor warranty. I don'yt think you'll find any on here that I've argued about a warranty with...Even many that have been waaay out of warranty.

Thank you. It was a very enlightening conversation. Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the other vendor. I'll admit, I'm behind right now, but atleast I put ALL the parts in the transmissions...LOL I just can't figure out how they missed it when you sent it back. Must've been "Rookie Day" at the old transmission shop.
