I think my clutch is dead

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...ight=bad+slave

After reading the above thread, and considering I have the exact same problems, even after a McLeod adj. MC install and many attempts at bleeding the hydraulics, I'm pretty sure my pressure plate took a crap on me.

I've decided to go the Autozone PP/aftermarket disc route this time. I have the RAM HDX in there now, and it still holds good, but I'm wondering if maybe I should upgrade the disc while I am in there, since I just put the heads/cam on. I am thinking about the McLeod single disc (performance) or a RAM Powergrip. Anyone have any thoughts on these? I also plan to swap the old flywheel for a new OEM Autozone one (might as well). Thanks.

Well, after reading a lot on here, I decided to go with the RAM Powergrip. After reading the sticky, I also found out that RAM does not sell the Powergrip disc alone, but that's no big deal since I have to replace the PP anyway. Hopefully this clutch will be just as streetable as my HDX.

Pulled it apart yesterday, and here's what I found:

Anyway, the new Powergrip drives awesome! For a new clutch, it engages pretty smooth and grips nicely. I can't wait to break it in so I can start powershifting again.

Green 96:
How is your powergrip holding sofar?
How many miles and races have you put on it?

I think mine is shot after 6 months. I need a new disc.

Almost 1k miles on it now, holds good. It's my DD and I don't go to the track, but when I get on it on the freeway it feels great.

Mine felt great too. I disassembled it to install it on another engine after 6 months of use and five or six drag race events and I think its gone.
Its only got .280" left.
It does not slip and holds great, does not chatter either.
Dont knof if I should replace it. (at least the disc)
