Drove an 02 LS1 6speed

Well im considering buying a 02 Z28 and i drove one yesterday. Its nothing new since ive had an 01 SS 6speed in the past but that was a while ago. Well as bad as the clutch was on this car i drove yesterday it accelerated very fast much better then my LT1 which as we speak has flowmaster muffler, exhuast cut out, intake and tune. Right when it hit about 4000rpms it would pull a bit harder and throttle response was ofcourse much more crisp and precise(lower miles most likely) it had 62,000 miles on it.

I was gonna buy it but ofcourse the whole car had been repainted and it without a doubt had a front end collision, clutch was horrible and check guages light was on but i think that was due to him having no fuel. Suprisingly enough its really difficult finding a 6speed car 02 with less then 70,000 miles. Either way i was still suprised on how well it accelerated, kinda forgot how fast they are bone stock. As loud as my LT1 is and it will get louder with the headers it wont be as fast as that LS1 at all, so i think its time to look even harder and hope i can find an LS1 Soon.

OK, you are looking for a new car, but what is the point of this being in LT1 engine tech?

All those mods and you think an LS1 is still that much faster???

Either you've never driven an LT1 with LTs and 4:10s or you haven't read what those two mods will do to your car. You should easily hang/beat an LS1.

Like i said the LS1 is definitly faster and as far off as there dyno numbers are meaning some dyno at 270 rwhp which is rare and up to 320+rwhp. This has alot to do with LT1 engine tech because im only talking about the engine. The engine in the LT1 is not as good as making power like the LS1 especially top end but then again we all know that. Ive had 4 camaro's so i kinda know a bit about both and after driving the LS1 were it doesnt make loud noise like mine does, bone stock and can be faster then my LT1 with exhuast, intake, tune and exhuast cut out, id pick the LS1. Shouldve never let go of my 01 SS but thats in the past, either way im definitly seriously considering buying an LS1 with approved credit hopefully ill be able to find one thats decent. ^^^ sorry i didnt know when i made a comment it offended someone they can use (what has this to do with engine tech) as a rude remark. I shouldnt have to constantly worry about what i have to exactly talk about and were i have to exactly post it so i can please everybody. I thought we all love the same kinda cars and were here to help each other out not when we here something we might not like and start bashing on each other.

Dude, I read about 3 sentences of Your last thread before I gave up. Either keep it simple with a question or go back and get Your G.E.D...... before You post next. Do You really wanna by a car that has been smashed because it's faster than an LT1 with headers???

Im glad you only got to read 3 sentences, if you actually knew how to read speaking of G.E.D i never said i bought it. I bought another one in almost mint condition. If you got nothing good to say dont post anything period just taking up your time for no reason. Yes the LS1 is faster no doubt i think if you were to need a G.E.D to figure that out then you got some serious issues. Its easy to be tough on the computer typing on your keyboard. Iv been on many forums and never really had any issues with people except here, too many people think they know what there talking about and have death ears to anything anyone else has to say, granted there are very knowledgable people here as well. As long as its something coming out of there mouths then its all good. Lets try to grow up and the G.E.D talk is a bit old school to say the least, im not trying to pick a fight but just bringing up a subject and getting bashed on is a tad childish i dont think i deserved that in anyway and im always supportive of other people when they post something.

When i drove the LS1 it barely made any noise especially compared to my LT1 but it was noticably faster. Im not putting down the LT1 and im sure yes with headers and other supporting mods it shouldnt have any problems keeping up and if not beating an LS1 but im getting a bit older and for me id rather just do a couple of mods like intake, short shifter and call it a day. My LT1 makes way too much noise even with the cutout closed and grabs too much attention and i mean the wrong kind. Either way i love both cars and ive had a few of them, i told myself if i can find a clean LS1 id buy it and a couple of days ago i found a really nice one and definitly not talking about the beat up one, but you have to drive out there to see it and when i found out it was in bad shape i walked which is what anyone would do, or most but just had to take it out for a test drive either way, hehe.
