Ball Joint Separator

Ball Joint Separator

This is a silly question. But I have to purchase a Ball Joint Separator, to separate my lower control arm from spindle and remove my lower A-Arm, hey its winter this is what I do. Who's Ball Joint Separator did you use for this?

You can get a "loaner" at Autozone.

Generally I like to own the tools I use. Just curious as to who's people have used to separate the ball joints on their F-bodies?

I used a hammer and PB blaster for my LS1 spindle swap. after a few wacks they popped right out with no damage to the balljoints at all.

They always come loose for me by smacking the flat boss on the side of the knuckle where the ball joint stud goes through. Back up the other side with a large hammer. The vibrations cause it to separate. Never hammer on the stud.
