With the economy the way it is and oil prices going through the stratosphere...

Do you think the Camaro will be a limited run like the GTO or do you think its back to stay for good?

It's difficult to say it'll be around "for good". But I firmly believe it will last much longer than the GTO. And frankly, if it's introduced into this economy and times and survives it's first two-three years, it should last quite a long time after.....

I don't think it will be like the GTO but I wouldn't be suprised if this was the last generation. We'll just have to see the product and how people will like it.

As long as the Mustang lives the Camaro will always have something to eat.

Define limited run? Wasn't the GTO only a 3 year production?

All in all it WILL run for a minimum of 5 years, the program has that long of a financial responsibility currently.

Not when you include all the Holden Monaros and Chevy Luminas that were sold overseas.

The GTO was never planned to be more than a 3 year run. If it had been a huge success they might have come up with a new version. It was a stop gap car to cover the Camaro and the lack of excitement with in Pontiac.

The Camaro will last longer than 3 years. The big money has already been spent on the car. Worst case they can keep building the same car for 5-7 years, even if its not selling well, and let it die a slow death. They probably would have kept building the 4th gen for a few more years if it had met the 2003 crash standards.

In your universe did the years 2002-2008 disappear into a black hole?

Sales for the Mustang have been dropping like a rock:

If it has to have a 5 year life cycle then it will be around for a long while. The economy and energy costs will be back on track by then and people will be spending like they did. With a good economy and reasonable gas prices the camaro will sell well.
