Amsoil Manual Transmission Fluid In M6

Anyone ever try this: Amsoil Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid

I ordered some as I was ordering up Oil & Filters plus all the rest of the goodies for a full fluid change. Then I got the bright idea to do a little research

I was going to go with the ATF as recommended, but thought this might be better.

Now I see that Synthetic Fluid is bad for certain parts in the tranny, so do you think I should be alright or should I just call them and have it switched to ATF???

Decided to switch it to the ATF

I looked at the ATF Fluid they sell and it says DEXRON II/III/IV and also replaces Honda Z-1 (which is also recommended by some folks on the board

God I hate when I just jump right into things

I hope they can just switch it out

Amsoil rocks No worries there.....

Realized that ATF is the right product for an M6, not Manual transmission Fluid

Where did you see that? There is nothing wrong with synthetic ATF in a manual transmission. Maybe you are thinking of gear oil?

Point was I ordered Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid at first.... Changed it to ATF (Synthetic), as I am now aware the M6 uses ATF not standard Manual Transmission Fluid

Moral of the story: Due the research before ordering next time

There's no such thing as Manual Transmission Fluid. Both auto and manual transmissions use ATF.

Well Amsoil lists different items: Transmission Fluid Choices

Clear differences between Manual Transmission Fluid and ATF.... So I know there are such things as Manual Transmission Fluid, and the right choice in this case is the ATF
