Question Weight Savings

Has anyone ever weighed a stock hood, and buy a fiberglass hod and weigh that. Also anyone here have a Carbon Fiber hood and weigh that as well

I know the Fb is lighter then stock, and a CF would be lighter than FB

BUT BY HOW MUCH???

I want to buy a Harwood 2 1/2" Cowl Hood with the Ram Air cut out, but saw a Harwood style hood without cut out for a little bit more but not Ram Air. My question is the Carbon Fiber woth the Extra money for the lighter Weight?

Also I saw an aritcle in a magazine of a LT1 Bird with the stock hood cut up, is that possible on a Camaro hood?

I switched my stock steel hood with a fiberglass hood last summer and I would say the fiberglass is about half the weight of the steel. From the way they feel, IMO I would guess the steel hood is 40-50 lbs and the fiberglass probably 20-25 lbs.

The stock metal hood on my Formula weighed 37#, with the insulation pad, no hardware.
