Older Tail Lights on Newer Body

Anybody ever swapped the older tailight assemblys with the newer? The newer has the amber for the turn signal. I think it'd look pretty good to have just red and white on mine (red 99 camaro):

Any pictures of cars that've done this?

Well a lot of responses here, haha. Do you guys thik this is a GOOD idea or a BAD idea overall? I was thinking about going with smoked altezza lenses, but I think that's going a bit too "ricer" for my taste.

Cool

All I know about this is that the plugs are different. There are quite a few people who have swapped the new lights into the older cars, but I don't know if many people have swapped the older lights into a newer car.You will need to cut and splice some wiring if no one makes an adapter for this.

Ahhh, so it's not just a direct swap. I'm just trying to think of some mods that aren't too common, but might look good. I think with a red camaro / white corner lenses / chrome exhaust / black ice wheels...a red/white combo tail light assembly might look better than red / white / amber.

From what I understand, going from the new style to the old style isn't much of a problem at all (although I forgot where I read that! ).

I did some quick photoshopping with the older tail lenses:

I think the older ones look a lot better. Anybody have a place where I could view wiring diagrams for the older? I think I'm going to make the swap; I need to know what all is involved.

I like the older ones a lot better than the newer ones.

The best part about the older ones is having the sequential tail light kit. I don't think you can do it with the newer ones (correct me if I'm wrong)...

This mod for you would be way better than going to Alzetas or what ever they call those...IMO...

I took taillights made for 93-96 and put them on my 99. The only thing that I had to do is use a soldering iron to melt a little off of the tabs on the light housing. Push the bulbs in, twist and your done. They only other hasle is the bulb stop on the back of the light lense. I just kinda worked around most and Accidentally broke one off. Did not see any problem after that one broke off, so either way. Its not hard and you don't need to buy anything. If you need more info on this let me know.

check out the lower left corner of your pictures, did you notice that?

I think your newer lights look just as good, the old ones do look better at night though.

Yes, I noticed that. It's my head...

I think they look better all the time personally.
