What tire pressure should I run?

Right now I'm running 42 PSI on the front and 40 PSI on the rear in my Goodyear GS-Cs. The max is 44. Is this what I should run?

Well, GM reccommends 30 PSI all around for our cars. I do 35. 40 seems high to me.

You should run it at 32lbs. thats what Z28s are running. I have 245/50s and I run 32lbs. On my stock old GoodYears, I ran 30lbs. That's what the manufacturer suggest.

Well the max is 44 so I didn't know. Will the tire pressure make a difference performance/MPG wise?

The more air you run in your tires, you will get a LITTLE better mileage but your ride will be a little harder.

I usually run 32-35 in my tires...depending.

44 is just the maximum the tire manufacturer wants for the tire under any circumstances. It has zip to do with what is good for our cars.

There should be a sticker on the door or glovebox with what GM recommends.

If you ran 44: Your car would ride hard, you would have less traction, and the center of your tire would wear out fast.

I run mine at 40psi.

Gives the best handing response.

GM goes to that 32-35 stuff.........cause people like "soft" riding cars.

Going to a 40 isn't gonna hurt a thing......

But if you guys want to get realllllly technical.....get some chalk/white shoe polish, and put it across the tires. Drive a couple of revolutions...and see where it has worn off. It should be totally gone...or even.

If its gone on the outside.......add more air
If its gone in the middle.........take some air out

Do this again and again..until you get the desired results.

......now doesn't that just sound technical to u??? :)
