Challenger Nav option with hard drive is only $890. At that price I'd probably get it in any car. It is about time Nav stops being a $2K option.

That's cool, although I like my external NAV as I can move it to any vehicle.
I'll probably never order a "In-Car Nav". GM probably found out the same thing through studies based on not offering it on the Malibu.

Outside of Cadillac ...GM is getting left completely in the dust by Ford and Chrysler when it comes to the latest in Audio tech . Both Fords Synce and Chryslers myGIG are pretty cool options that I would 100 % buy and not just because u get a Navagation .

That's a good price, but I don't know if I'd ever get an in dash system. The stand alone systems on sale now are great and are priced at a fraction of the OEM systems. MIO and TomTom are selling systems below $200 now. I love my Mio! I can use it in either car.
What do you all think? What advantages does an OEM system have over the windshield mounted ones that can make up for the price difference.

You don't end up with a tumor pasted on your dash or windshield.
I'd pay a ~$600 premium for a built in system when buying a new car. I would imagine it couldn't hurt re-sale either.
Like Z28x said, two grand for a factory nav is ridiculous. I have and will never pay that amount for a map.

Ehhh, they're not that bad; and the mobility far outweighs the downside of it mounted on your windshield.
