poppin fuse, non audio, but electrical

alright guys, got a 95 z28, and i've got the system and all that but it has nothing to do with it as tonight i've took it out and tried to narrow down the problem that has left me throwing things left and right, a fuse keeps blowing, no matter what size it is, it's the fuse right under the two silver relay looking fuses, i think it's the courtesy fuse, i cannot figure out why it keeps popping, i have a in dash tv and speakers and all but i took the deck out and it still keeps popping the fuse, so i don't think it would be that, but this is driving me insane, any help whatsoever to narrow down the problem would be nice, it wouldn't bother me because all the accesory fuse does for me is beep and turn on lights when i open my door, i could do without it, but it cuts my radio off when it blows the fuse, anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

you have one of 2 problems. either too much draw on that fuse, but you say when you disconnect the tv, it still does it, so i doubt its that.
or something is grounding out. It could be a bad doorpin or a bad cigar lighter, i believe the cigar lighter is tied to constant with the domelight. My dad's 95 had a problem wiht the actual lighter. pulled out the lighter while keeping the socket plugged in and the problem was gone. anyway, try that or try disconnecting each doorpin at the pin to see if it stops blowing. Dont keep uping the fuse size b/c that could cause a fire.

where are the door pin plugs located? if it is something grounded out, where should i start looking?

anywhere a screw could be touching a wire, from panels all the way up to the light. i believe the 95's had individual doorpins in each inner dorr jam, if not they are inside the door at the lock assembly.

first off, never raise the amperage of a fuse in your box. They are what they are for a reason.

Whomever installed your electronics SHOULD have properly fused them. If not, I suggest doing so. IMO that should pin-point the source of your problem.

they are fused correctly, i think i found the problem, when i roll the dimmer switch on my headlights all the way down, it stops popping fuses, so it must be the box...what do you guys think?

trace that wire and try to find any source of a short / exposed wire

usually a quick electrical tape job will solve the problem

found it, the light in the center console somehow shorted out, and after a nice smoke show, i found it...yeah, i'm a dumbass....lol
