i have a 1988 camaro i plan putting a non computer controlled 383 in it.so i dont need tha stock wiring harness. i was wondering if i could get a universal harness from painless performance for head lights, brake lights, radio, fuel pump, etc.....anyways a rat ate up most of tha harness anyway so i was goin to replace it!!!! so will this work for what i need???

yeah it will work, but if you have the stock one just use it....will be alot easier. just get rid of the engine harness

I missed the RAT part....
You keeping AC/heat? Painless has some "hot rod harnesses" and plenty of other stuff ...Get the one that works for a saginaw steering column. It shouldn't be too hard

The only ones I have ever put in were race car styles.....simple but time consuming.....If you can try to do the whole thing alone. I had to go back and fix other peoples mistakes b/c they were not on the same page I was. With only heat it should be pretty simple. Keep everything you can from your stock harness....you may need some of the pigtails

whats a pig tail??? so i just follow tha stock harness like tha tha fuel pump and lights and all that?

pig tail is the plug for your heater stuff and headlights....I'm pretty sure the harness does not come with some of the plugs that are specific to that car

I wouldn't do this. I would buy a stock harness and just remove the engine management part. It will be much easier as you will have all the factory ends and everything will fit perfect.
