Rear hatch lifts?

I recently ordered Rear hatch lifts from GMPartsdirect and they sent me the small ones for the front hood. To make a long story short i cant return them even though they are unopened and the item description and part # were wrong. Anyways, i found the real part number to be 10251723, not 10193275 as listed at GMPartsdirect. However, when i search for this part nothing is available. Does anyone know where to get some new Rear Hatch lifts? Thanks

apparently you cant return *special item orders. And by local parts stores do you mean like Advanced Auto and the like? I didn't think they would carry these kind of items.

Also, i paid 70 and some change for these 2 that i got! If I can't return them, im willing to let em go for say 50 plus 5 shipping? anyone?

They get you on that special order stuff.. But, yes Autozone,Carquest, Advance should be able to get it for you.. I know Carquest can...

Cost probably around 25~30 dollars each..

If you can't return them, maybe try selling them on here in the Parts for Sale forum. I agree with the others, a parts store should have no problems getting those for you. It would probably be a much cheaper option versus the GM offerings anyhow.

That's a bunch of BS man. You need to take that issue all the way to the top and get ALL your money back. I had to do the same thing at a Mitsubishi dealer not long ago. They said they wouldn't take back an electronic part 'cuz they didn't know if it had been installed in the car or not, yada yada... I took it one step below the owner of the dealership and they still didn't wanna play, so when I told them I wanted to talk to the owner, oh all of a sudden it's all good.
LOL... they're just trying to keep the money man. You can get it back, I'm sure of it.
Good luck

well, the GMPartdirect person said that 'it states in many places on the site that special items are non returnable for any reason' and that i should have checked the part # with customer service before ordering, i then argued that based on the item description i did not believe i NEEDED to check customer service, and then he implied that all customers should check all part #'s before ANY order! What a crock! Based on the item description I was lead to believe I had the correct part. So how is this MY fault? Also, the lifts they sent me are WAY too small for rear hatch lifts as well as hood lifts. They are slightly smaller than the hood lifts and the GMParts guy says they are for 94-02 convertibles! ummmm i dont think so, convertible hatch deck lids use same lifts as regular right? Now i dont know WHAT to do with these things, and im out 70 bucks!

No! The convertible "trunk lid" is considerably smaller than any hatch.

i had to replace mine ~6 years ago and i am not sure i would waste my time with going to advanced auto. i tried 3 places like that (advanced, auto zone, and napa) and they had to order them. they ended up being the ones for the smaller ones for the convertable or hood. i had to get mine from a dealership. they were ~80 a piece*.

cant remember for sure on the price, but they were a lot more than 30.

See if you have an independent parts house in your area that is an AC-Delco dealer.

According to the Strong Arm book;

Hatch # 4680
Hood # 4794

This is for non-convertible.....
