Any idea what this could be?

Ok, I was driving to work the other day and got about a half mile from my house and then it made a big POP, followed by a clang clang clang constantly. Now anytime I put it in gear, it gives the clang, clang, clang, and the rear wheels shake back and forth constantly. So I figured I stripped my gears, but I opened the pumpkin on the rear axle and the gears look fine. There's some metal shavings in the bottom of the pumpkin, but I've never changed the oil back there and I just got the car about 30K miles ago. It has 154K on it right now. So I check the transmission fluid and it's red just like it should be and full. The car isn't leaking transmission fluid at all, and it didn't leak fluid at all when it went pop, transmission or otherwise. The driveshaft is still connected as far as I can see, but I was told a bearing or the u joint might have went out on it.

Any idea what to do next cause this is my only car and daily driver.

Here's some more info to fill in the blanks about it. You can push it in park just as easy as you can in neutral. When you push it the car makes the same sounds as it does in drive, just not as quick. Any questions about it feel free to ask.
