"Tray" under LT1 intake... needed?

Just wondering if i have to put the "tray" like thing under the LT1 intake back on or if its not that important. It looks like it has something to do with the PCV system...?

If I remember correctly, that is an oil splash guard. Yes. important

Where can i get one i need it for my new build ive been woundering the same thing

It also keeps oil from being entrained in the vapor flowing into the PCV system.
