Unhappy How can I restore original chrome finish

I live in the UK and my Z28 is 8 years old, when I first bought it the stock wheels looked great and were so easy to clean but over the years it is becoming harder and the finish is not so good any more.
I guess this is due to chrome polish being slightly abrasive.
Is there anything I can do to restore the wheels to the way they were?
I can’t find anyone that can re-plate them so if there is anything I guess it will be some sort of spray, or should I give up and buy some new wheels and boots?

What kind of shape are the wheels in?

This stuff looks promising, althought I don't have any experience with it personally, it seems to be getting positive reviews on the internet:

I have used that one before but for the last year I have been using Mothers Chrome Polish
http://www.mothers.com/products/prod...wheelprod.html
It seems that they are all a bit abrasive and my wheels dont look too bad after I have spent a couple of hours on them but when the car was new it only took a few minutes and I did not need to use polish at all.
When you look closely they used to have a mirror finish and now they dont
