im wanting to get the HSW Sudden Impact Single Nozzle Wet Nitrous Kit from Harris Speedworks.... i want it all to be completely safe for my engine, so im just wondering what saftey gear should i buy, and what other various parts i might need... i know i need a blowdown tube, the bottle heater, purge kit, and plugs.. what esle? also what would be a relatively safe shot? im thinkin just keep it at the 75 to 100 shot, what can these engines handle?? thanks guys...

 

youll need a malory box, (pull timing and window switch)
get a coil and wires and ngk tr6 plugs,
a walbro intank pump and hotwire kit
that should do it
id also reccoment a the dynotune bottle warmer..if youwant to save a few bux ive got a good adjustable switch never used, and you can just buy their heater element...purge isnt necessary, neither is a blowdown tube for the beginning...

 

I disagree with this, i feel that purge is a necessity. This ensures that you will have nitrous up to the solenoid and not dead air when you first spray. Dead air mixed with gas will do next to nothing when you first hit the nitrous. A blowdown is up to the user. If the car is going to see track time then you will beed a blowdown. Depending on how old your fuel pump is with only running a 75-100 shot the stocker will probably do just fine. (this is also the decision of the user if you want to spend the money on it right now then do it) A necessity is also a fuel pressure safety switch. Its the nitrous users best friend. If that stocker pump in fact wont supply enough fuel pressure to the motor then it will shut off the nitrous and save your motor. If your going with the HSW kit then use their warmer, its worked very well for me. Any more questions feel free to ask

 

A purge is NOT necessary...it helps, but it isnt necessary.

A FPSS is a must though with a wet kit.

HSW is great company though. Awesome customer support and their wetkit was the first kit I ran.

 

Necessitiy may be overstated but to each his own, whats an extra $100 when your already spending +-$1000...

 

If you want to stay legal on the track, then you will need the blowdown tube. A purge kit, although not a complete necessity, is a very good thing to have to round out your setup. An aftermarket fuel pump, colder plugs, window switch, and fuel pressure safety switch are all necessities in my opinion.

 

That is one of the reasons why I got one, also because my bottle mounts in my backseat, and if for some reason it ever ruptured, I wouldnt wanna be covered in n2o...
