What are the PROPER techniques to use Zaino?!

I've used Zaino for over a year and half now. My routine consists of washing the car in dawn, then the clay barring from hell (oooh god do I love a smooth car! if you never clay barred, GET OUT AND DO IT NOW!!!! AND DON'T STOP!!!! ;) ). Then I move onto rinsing, possibly rewashing again with a new mitt (I always buy 2 mitts for this, one before clay bar and one after). Then I SUPREMELY dry my car, get all the water out of the nooks and crannies. Apply my Z1 top to bottom on doors and fenders, and bumpers, and glass to bumper on the hood and hatch. Then immediately after I apply that I do a Z2 or Z5 (in the same manner as Z1). I let all that rest for at least 24 hours before I take it off, spray down with some Z6, then apply my next coat. . . and I repeat until I say "FUG IT!"

My question is, is my process the correct way? How much Zaino should be visible on the paint so I know its the correct amount. Should I be using Z2 first or Z5 first? My car isn't all that scratched up, just a spider web on the passenger fender and a bunch of hair line scratches above the driver's door handle.

I'll be going to town on my Camaro as it goes into storage Dec 1st and won't see the light of day until the weather is clear again. I want to get the most out of the massive coats my car will receive while sitting in my garage. . . Any suggestions?

Once you have Zaino on your car you can put the Dawn away, the Zaino Car Wash will be fine to use, without knowing the color of your car you may not need to use Z-5, light color cars usually do not need Z-5 unless swirls can be seen. You will not see the haze on your car like you do with carnauba products, with Zaino there is a very light haze. If your using Z-5 you should use that before Z-2, although you can switch back and forth with Zaino polishes. :)

Are using washing with Dawn and claying every time you wash it???? After the first time, there is no reason to use Dawn again, use the Z-7 wash, you'll get better results. Clay real good once or twice a year. There really is no need to clay every time you wash the car. If you are using the Z-1 every time, there is no need to. Use at least twice a year or every 10 coats. Using it every time won't hurt though. You only need to use about 1/2 ounce of polish per application. You don't need to wait 24 hours to remove it. If it is taking that long to dry you are using WAY too much. If you use the ZFX additive, the first spot you applied polish will usually be dry by the time you finish applying it. You can also do back to back coats with the ZFX additive. Use the Z-5 to fill any light scratches or swirl marks until you are satisfied, then switch to the Z-2. They are completely interchangeable and can be used in any order. Think of Z-5 as a thicker version of the Z-2. Definitely use 100% cotton towels and a gentle touch to help keep from getting new swirl marks. Use the Z-6 after polishing and between coats. I actually use the Z-6 before I drive my car and also when I park it.

I only clay bar if I feel any roughness in my paint, usually my rear bumped gets it alot!

I apply Z1 once, then my polish coat. I was curious what polish coat to use, Z2 or Z5 first?

And you said you do a Z5 then a Z2, do you mean do Z5 as a coat, then spray her down with Z6 and then add the next coat of Z2? I ALWAYS end my coats in Z2.

I let her sit for 24 hours, I was informed (this was awhile ago) that to get maximum locking it was the best way. It could be wrong, couldn't hurt anything could it? I've been meaning to get ZFX, I'll hafta call up my distributor this week. . .

As far as how much I apply, I usually just put a haze on. Like a film over the paint. I couldn't tell ya if I'm using an ounce or two ounces. . .
