I have replaced the airbags and control module in my 96 Z28. Sometimes the light comes on, other times it don't. Do I need to replace the clockspring/SIR ??? If so, can anyone tell me how? How can I tell if it's bad? And no, I'd rather not take it to the local dealer, as they wrecked my car the last time I took it there!

 

well, you need to find out what code its throwing, find a shop around you that can/will scan the SIR system and get you the code, and we will go from there

wiring, clockspring, any of the crash sensors, ect.
