Bulbs burned out - radio

Some of the back-lighted buttons on my radio, as well as the power window buttons, have the bulbs burned out. These are the small lights that show through the various buttons when the headlights are turned on.

Anybody know how to replace these bulbs on the radio without taking the dash completely apart. Also have one light out on my steering wheel radio controls.

Is this an easy fix..?

Re: Bulbs burned out - radio

I know there are kits out there that sell the bulbs to change the color of the stereo lights and such, but you send the head unit in and they do it for you I believe. A guy actually posted in the appearance forum with a link to his page in a thread talking about HID lights. They advertised it on his page but I don't remember the price off hand.

And a steering wheel, power window buttons, etc....?

Replacing the bulbs in the radio is possible, but you have to remove the radio, disassemble it and solder in new bulbs.

If you have some basic electronics skill and know how to solder it is an easy do-it-yourself job. If you and electronics do not get along - pay a professional to do it.
