Solid Motor Tranny Mounts?Patryn 07-30-2006, 01:11 AM Looking to pick up some solid motor and transmission mounts for my 2000 Z28. Can you guys post me a link to somewhere that is selling these. It will crack your transmission housing/bellhousing if it's stock ttop1986 08-01-2006, 09:43 PM Just get some polyeurothane ones. Patryn 08-01-2006, 09:44 PM I used 4 solid mounts for my 3000GT and its pushing about 600AWHP. So far my experiance with solid mounts is good, but I am basing on that platform. The camaro, I have not really modded to much. I do know that I hate the rear end jumping around and the engine and tranny clunking on hard launch. I would like it to be tight and solid. So with with that being said what should I mod at the same time if I do solid mounts if cracking the bell housing seems to be a problem for the Camaro. I didn't find too much info searching around. I'm going to go solid unless its a confirmed/well known problem with solid mounts, not interested in poly. matLT1 08-01-2006, 10:00 PM Why would this crack the bellhousing??? I'm interested in an explaination myself... Patryn 08-01-2006, 10:08 PM Found some Spohn solid motor mounts and they do recommend using a poly tranny mount so seems like they may have some R&D into this too. So whats the consensus out there use solid mounts only on motor or motor & transmission. What is everyones experiance that has done these combinations. Patryn 08-03-2006, 07:11 PM bumping, whats the info on this. stroked383z28 08-04-2006, 01:44 AM I've run the Moroso solid motor mounts with a regular trans mount in my LT1 in the past. They are great mounts. You can run solid motor mounts with a rubber or poly trans mount. You just don't want to go the other way around (solid trans mount with rubber or poly motor mounts), because then you could crack the transmission case. Patryn 08-05-2006, 01:49 PM Anyone ever tried to make any brackets or plates to reinforce the bell housing on the transmission. Just trying to find a way to lock everything down, get the car to have a tighter feel. Hate it when on hard launches seems like the transmission is just trying to jump around. 95NateZ28 08-07-2006, 12:33 AM I have solid motor mounts and a poly trans mount. The only real problem is the vibration transmitted throughout the car causes bolts to loosen. My car is a bit more extreme and I certainly don't drive it every day, but once every month or so I jack it up and go over all the nuts/bolts. I usually find a few missing, from exhaust collector to  motor mount bolts. s10er8 08-07-2006, 06:15 PM Anyone ever tried to make any brackets or plates to reinforce the bell housing on the transmission.
