GM spends $1000+ per Saturn vehicle for advertising

GM spent over $1000 on average on advertising for each Saturn sold last year. That's currently twice as much as much Toyota and Honda spend on advertising per vehicle. Of course this high ratio is based on the fact that GM will only sell around 200,000 Saturns in 2006 which is down 1% from 2005 sales.

Seems right...I see no ads for Cobalts anymore, but still see TV ads for the stupid Ion that's been out for over 3 years...

GM has a national ad budget of 1.3 billion and while GM is spending 200 million on Saturn they are going to spend 250 million next year on cadillac.

GM is cutting around 200 million this year out of their ad budget mostly from Pontiac and Buick.

GM's national ad budget will be about $1.3 billion this year, sources say. Older vehicles and brands such as Buick and Pontiac will suffer as GM concentrates its spending on product launches, including the critical full-sized SUVs and pickups.

That doesen't sound good, the last round of Buick and Pontiac commercials were actually very good.
