V6 2.8L(89 RS) to V6 3.0L(90 RS) Engine swap

Hey people, Im thinking about swapping the 3.0 i have in my 90 RS to the 2.8 i have in my 89 RS.

I was wondering, can I swap these motors and there be no problems? Or will I need to change anything (computer, sensors, etc.?)?

To answer anyone that might be thinking why am I downgrading to a 2.6L its easy. The 3.0 has 170k+ miles on it while the 2.8L has about 20k on it.

Thank you for any help given.

Oh and does anyone know where I can get good high performance Headers for a V6?

Seems like it would be a pretty much straightforeward swap, but you would get more help in the V6 section.

You mean 2.8 ltr. dont you? I had a bunch of Fiero V-6's that had 2.8 liters so I assumed Camaro's had the same in the late 80's. Check out the link for headers I found. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...=KeywordSearch

i'm sure its as easy as 305 to 350, but your going to want to put a 3.1L chip in it

As said above, the 82-89 f-body V6 is a 2.8L, while the 90-92 V6 is a 3.1L. Also, you cannot put a 3.1L chip into a 2.8L because the 90-92 is speed density while the 85-89 is MAF, same as the V8's.
As far as I know, everything about the 2.8L and 3.1L is identical on the outside, so the swap is as basic as any other engine swap.
