Can Dyno operator/equipment cause erratic running of engine?

Just curious who here has had there Car run wierd on the dyno, yet run fine on the road or another dyno? Can the dyno be hooked up worng? Can haveing the wires they use(there were two), Dynojet) to read rpm etc make your ignition misfire, DELTEQ? Just curious as I am trying to find out why my car ran LEAN (according to the tailpipe AFR readings, 14 to 1), yet dumped black smoke on 2 different tunes. F/P made no difference either.
Car runs fine on street, doesnt dump black smoke etc other than intial hit at WOT runs, and no black smoke or pinging and O2's show around 900 mv at wot runs on TTS datamaster.
This is an 1993 LT1auto with Long tubes and heated O2 sensors
